2009 A year in review

I am blessed to have been a part of alot of things for the Lord this past year. The year started out and I was barely able to pass out a tract without looking to hide afterward. Then my husband and I were fortunate enough to be able to attend the Ambassadors Academy of Living Waters Ministry out in Los Angeles, CA.

We were a part of a group of 60+ evangelists in training for an intense type of "evangelist boot camp" for three and a half days. We had training from the best of the best in Evangelism. People like Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron, E-Z Zwayne, Mark Spence, Tony Miano and others. It was amazing. We had a full day of intense training in the classroom and then the next two days is where the rubber hit the road and we were out on Hollywood blvd and glendale and even Huntington beach pier. I highly recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in learning how to biblically and correctly share their faith. You will not regret it. It truly is life changing, and I am planning to attend again this coming year to be pushed further yet out of my comfort zone. I'm excited to see what the Lord will do this coming year.

Like I said, before the academy, I could barely hand out a tract; but since the academy training and linking up with other like minded evangelist brothers and sisters almost daily via facebook and phone and emails, and was even able to meet another academy graduate from Indiana over the Thanksgiving holiday to go out as a team and witness and share the gospel. I have learned a lot this year and have really grown in my evangelism. Most recently I have had the honor of being a "fisherman" for the internet radio show called Ambassadors Alliance radio, which is hosted by Tony Miano, the director of the Ambassadors Academy, and an amazing evangelist himself. I was able to speak with a young lady named Katie and a young man named Cody and give them tracts, new testaments and the gospel. The experiences have really been a blessing in that I am more eager to get out there and do this type of thing more and more. Also since the academy I have handed out probably thousands of tracts at parades, for Halloween and just in general, as well as Open Air preached on several occasions. I have grown alot I think this last year and traveled out of my comfort zone in evangelism more than once. It always amazes me how God can and will use us if we only avail ourselves to be his willing vessels.

I dont say all this to say "look at me, see what I've done this year" but to encourage those who were like i was at the beginning of this year....those who can barely get up the courage to hand out a tract. I still get nervous and scared, but you have to just get over it and do it. Just do it. You will be amazed how God will use you when you are willing. Not only will you be a blessing to someone else, but you will even see that you are blessed by watching someone else be blessed.

In closing, I am very excited to see what the Lord has in store for 2010. I pray it is more stretching and pushing me further out of my area of comfort and more into the evangelist He wants me to be. I do it all "4 His Glory". :-)

(if you have never considered going to the Ambassadors Academy, let me encourage you to do so, you will never regret it. For more information go to www.livingwaters.com )

Let this video inspire you to go and fulfill the Great Commission!

Twas the night before Jesus came…

…and all through the house
Not a creature was praying not one in the house
Their Bibles were lain on the shelf without care
In hopes that Jesus would not come there.

The children were dressing to crawl into bed,
Not once ever kneeling or bowing a head.
And mom in her rocker with baby on her lap
Was watching the late show while I took a nap.

When out of the East there arose such a clatter,
I sprang to my feet to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash!

When what to my wondering eyes should appear
But angels proclaiming that Jesus was here.
With a light like the sun sending forth a bright ray
I knew in a moment this must be The Day!

The light of His face made me cover my head
It was Jesus! Returning just like He had said.
And though I possessed worldly wisdom and wealth,
I cried when I saw Him in spite of myself.

In the Book of Life which He held in His hand
Was written the name of every saved man.
He spoke not a word as He searched for my name;
When He said “It’s not here” my head hung in shame.

The people whose names had been written with love
He gathered to take to His Father above.
With those who were ready He rose without a sound
While all the rest were left standing around.

I fell to my knees, but it was too late;
I had waited too long, and thus sealed my fate.
I stood and I cried as they rose out of sight;
Oh, if only I had been ready tonight.

In the words of this poem the meaning is clear;
The coming of Jesus is drawing near.
There’s only one life and when comes the last call
We’ll find that the Bible was true after all!

Mary's Dream

I had a dream Joseph. I don't understand it, not really, but I think it was about a birthday celebration for our Son. I think that was what it was all about. The people had been preparing for it for about 6 weeks.

They had decorated the house and bought new clothes. They'd gone shopping many times and bought elaborate gifts. It was peculiar, though, because the presents weren't for our Son. They wrapped them in beautiful paper and tied them with lovely bows and stacked them under a tree.

Yes, a tree, Joseph, right in their house! They'd decorate the tree also. The branches were full of glowing balls and sparkling ornaments. There was a figure on top of the tree. It looked like an angel might look. Oh, it was beautiful!

Everyone was laughing and happy. They were all excited about the gifts. They gave gifts to each other, Joseph, not to our Son. I don't think they even knew Him! They never mentioned His name. Doesn't it seem odd for people to go to all the trouble to celebrate someone's birthday if they don't know Him? I had the strangest feeling that if our Son had gone to this celebration He would have been intruding.

Everything was so beautiful, Joseph, and everyone so full of cheer, but it made me want to cry. How sad for Jesus - not to be wanted at His own birthday celebration. I'm glad it was only a dream. How terrible, Joseph, if it had been real!

COMPROMISE a four letter word??

B: You involve yourselves with questions such as abortion. I am assuming that The Salvation Army is against it?

S.C. That's too simple. We are not as conservative as our catholic brothers and sisters. There are situations in which abortion is the lesser evil, for instance in cases of severe deformities of the foetus, [or] rape. We try to support women who find themselves in this situation and to be loyal to them, even if they make decisions that we ourselves might not have made.

The above was a quote from a General in the Salvation Army. An organization that most of us respect for all the help they give to hurting people. I, for one, donated to them many times, until now. It has come to my attention via a dear friend on facebook that the salvation army is just one more "ministry" which compromises when it comes to biblical truths.

When asked if the SA (salvation army) is against abortion, he replied with "That's too simple". Too simple?? How hard is it to understand when the Lord said "THOU SHALT NOT MURDER" and that even hating someone was murder already? I am sure that Jesus would NOT support the murder of innocent babies UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. yet we turn a blind eye because of any number of reasons. Shame on us. This man went on to say "There are situations in which abortion is the lesser evil, for instance in cases of severe deformities or rape". Who decides what deformity is severe enough to snuff out a life?

Jeremiah 1:5
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."View Image

Who are we to decide who is worthy to be born and who isnt? Where is the scriptures supporting this COMPROMISE? For a rape instance, it is a horrible thing to have to endure, and the chances of becoming pregnant from a rape are so small its barely an issue...and even still, is it the babies fault? No, yet who do we punish?...who pays the price? The baby. We call it a Fetus so that it removes the human element of it....sounds more clinical, sterile, to just call it a fetus and not a living, growing, and yes, feeling, human baby. Makes it easier on the conscience. It's still compromising biblical principles for a ministry to condone it in any sense. Compromise for a Christian, as far as biblical truth is concerned, should be a four letter word.

I believe it is shameful and heretical to support a ministry that condones this murdering of infants. When are Christians going to stand up for what is biblical and stop trying to compromise to please man. Time is ticking, where is the remnant of Gods people,...the real and true uncompromising bride of Christ?

I was to go out this Saturday with a local church to be a bell ringer for the Salvation Army but upon learning that they do indeed support abortion "in certain instances"...I will no longer be going out to support them.

THIS IS CHRISTmas! It's NOT ABOUT SANTA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyR0lwO-nXc

Obama is right!!

America is no longer a Christian nation, I have to agree with Obama on that, probably the only thing i can say i agree with him on, but nevertheless....Here is an article that i received in email today from the ACLJ.

Where are all the "Christians"? If over half the population regards themselves as "Christian" then why can't we defeat this legislation?? I will tell you why, because we are NOT a Christian nation.

Christian means to be Christ-like. How Christ-like are you? How do you vote on major issues? Do you stand up for what is biblical and right? WWJD? OR, do you go to church on Sunday and live like hell on Monday thru Saturday? It is time for the real Christians to say enough is enough and get off our duffs and do something. Hand out a tract! Picket something like an abortion clinic! We are the army of God and we are still sleeping. Wake up church!! Wake up and fulfill what God calls us to do. Preach the gospel to every creature. Time is running out, 150,000 people a day die and pass into eternity...most would probably call themselves Christian, yet they are not. But I'm getting off topic....here is the article to which i was referring. I will post more about Christians getting motivated soon.

Breaking news
out of Washington: The Senate has voted down (54-45) the amendment prohibiting the federal funding - your tax dollars - of abortion within health care reform legislation. View my latest video report immediately!

Media Player ImageWe've been engaged in this issue from the very start, as you know - and simply put, this rejection of such a critical pro-life measure is a callous disregard for the protection of innocent human life.

Just a few weeks ago, the House passed the Stupak-Pitts Amendment - calling for a prohibition of abortion funding. But now, in the Senate, by a handful of votes, a similar amendment brought by Senators Ben Nelson and Orrin Hatch has failed.

The ACLJ's Government Affairs team, as always, is right in the middle of the fight to preserve life ... and that battle continues.

The next step? We'll have one more chance to defeat abortion funding in health care legislation during what's called the ''Joint Reconciliation'' process.

For details, be sure to watch my brand-new online video report now.

For all the latest, tune in daily to Jay Sekulow Live! and read our press release about this and other key issues.

Thanks for all you do - your prayers and your support - to keep us advancing life and liberty on your behalf.

Ambassadors Academy

I am a graduate of the Ambassadors Academy #12 which took place in August of this year. I can tell you that it is probably the best training for witnessing and open air preaching I know of in this country. The academy is a part of the ministry of Living Waters in California and you will not find a more thorough and biblical evangelism training center anywhere.

Right now they have announced a new set of sessions for the coming year and to top it off the cost of attending has been cut in half. It is only $300 to attend. This is a great time to apply. You will receive one to one training as well as intense classroom training by some of the best evangelists in the nation. People like: Ray Comfort, Kirk Cameron, and others. Then you will be taken out to some of the best "fishing holes" in California; Hollywood blvd, Huntington beach and Glendale. It is an amazing time of fellowship and learning. I cannot recommend it enough.

It is definitely a life changing event and I highly recommend it for anyone interested in learning how to biblically share their faith with others.

For more information please visit www.livingwaters.com ....You won't regret it. :-)

December 5th, 2009

This is my very first blog post, I had intended to title the first post “Few who find it” and talk about something in particular, but that will have to wait for another day as God had other plans for today. You see today I spent 3 hours as a Salvation Army volunteer at the mall near our home. We did this for two reasons…one, to help out the Salvation Army who helps so many all year round; and two, to have an opportunity to hand out gospel tracts and talk to some folks about their eternal destiny, or to at the very least make them think about it.

The day went well. My husband and I and our daughter went up to the mall and rang the bell and handed out tracts for quite a while, nothing earth shattering happened there, not much conversation since it was pretty cold out and everyone wanted to either get in the warm store or get in their warm cars, but we handed out several hundred tracts and planted many seeds. It
was a successful day. Any day where you hand out even one tract is a success.

It was what happened after that on my way home from the grocery store later that I want to share with you. I guess if I were to give this post a title it would be “ARE YOU READY”?

On the way home from the grocery store later in the afternoon, I passed by what looked like a person pulled over on the side of the road who I thought was probably getting a ticket; until I got closer and realized it was a car stopped in the middle of the opposite lane with a person laying on the ground in front of it. Could it really be what I was seeing? Is that person dead? Did they know Jesus? Where were they now in the blink of an eye? As I passed by, I could see that it was a woman who looked to be laying in front of a car as if to reach under and repair something, but
she wasn’t. She wasn’t moving at all and her eyes were closed. She was laying on her side like she was just sleeping.

I passed the scene and started to pull over to see if I could help but in the rearview mirror I saw several people on both sides of the road who had also pulled over going to see if they could help. Not being good in an emergency situation, I thought it best that I prayed for her, and them, and didn’t get in the way of a rescue. But the entire incident is the reality of how fragile our lives are, in a single breath they can be gone. I pray that she will recover with no lasting effects but from the look of the scene, I do not know.

I said all that to say, ARE YOU READY? As a Christian, are you ready to go into all the world and preach the gospel? How many people a day do we pass by with just a hello?…would it put us out that much to hand them a simple tract? I know I am guilty as well of not taking every opportunity. It is not hard to do. “Did you get one of these? Or Merry Christmas” and hand them a tract. Most will take it. Some will not.

We are called to do this, yet only 2% of Christians share their faith. Why? Do we not care enough? Do we feel it’s none of our business? Are we too busy? Shame on us for not taking every and all opportunities to hand someone a tract or to talk to someone about eternity. We have this amazing treasure and the majority of Christians don't seem to want to share it.

If you are not a Christian, then I ask you the same. ARE YOU READY? Are you ready for eternity? Ten out of ten people die. Not most people,…ALL people die. Where will you go when it happens to you? Please consider it. The bible states that it is appointed unto men once to die and then the judgment. (Hebrews 9:27). We have all sinned and broken God’s laws and have to face a just and Holy God on judgment day. If you have ever lied one time, you are a liar. Ever stolen anything, no matter the value, you are a thief in God’s eyes. If you have even so much as looked at the opposite sex with lust, you have committed adultery in the eyes of God. That is how high His standards are. The bible says that all have sinned… (Romans 3:23).

We cannot possibly keep Gods high standards, and He knows this, that is why He sent His only son, God in the flesh, to take our punishment on the cross. WE broke God’s laws, and Jesus took our penalty. Why? Because he loves us. He loves you. All we need to do is repent and trust in Jesus to save us. Repent means to turn away from your sins. Trust means to believe that He paid your penalty and because of His sacrifice we can be freed from paying the price ourselves. Because God is a fair and Holy judge; someone has to pay for our sins…it will either be us, by an eternity in hell; or Jesus, by His sacrifice on the cross. I plead with you to consider this and repent and trust in Jesus today…while you still have time.

I pray the woman I saw today survived, and if she did not, then I pray she repented and trusted in the Lord to save her.

Let us take every opportunity the Lord gives us to reach others while there is still time.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog. I decided to start my own site to discuss my views on Christianity today as well as Evangelism. My husband and I started the site called Just Truth, which he almost totally runs himself beautifully. I highly recommend checking it out. www.justtruth.net I also realized that I needed a place to call my own, to share my own thoughts and feelings on the matters of life and being a Christian in today's world. I also wanted it to glorify Jesus so it seemed pretty simple and "4HisGlory" was born. I pray that everything I post is complete truth and that it does indeed glorify my Lord. So, again, welcome to my very own blog....and God bless.
