The Candy Maker
Tom and I had the great honor of being asked to go speak on Evangelism at Pacific Baptist Church last night. It was our first time speaking anywhere like this, other than atop a trash can or a box. ;-) We were very nervous, but we just pray that what we spoke honored God and blessed the wonderful people of Pacific Baptist. We thank you very much for the honor of visiting and sharing with you. What a blessing to us it was. Here is "part" of Tom's sermon, the "Candy Maker", I thought the analogy really was a good way to explain the poison of the Modern Gospel.

Arch-Reach this saturday, 5-15-10
This Saturday, May 15th, 2010; from 1:30 to 4:30pm approximately two dozen evangelists will converge on the St. Louis Arch to spread the gospel to the masses who visit the arch each weekend. There are people from all states and even countries there at any given time. It's a perfect way to "reach the world" while never leaving "home".
Thanks be to God for all He has done with our ministry, Just Truth, we know God has plans for it and for us this coming summer and year that we cannot even imagine. It started about two years ago as a blog that my husband and I would share our evangelism efforts. We named it "Just Truth" because that is all we ever want it to be....sharing Just the Truth of God's grace and love in that "while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us".
When we started it, it was just my husband and I and our kids with us and we prayed and prayed and wondered why so many professing Christians would rather have a root canal than go and share their faith. We became discouraged. But still we couldn't quit on what we knew God was calling us to do. This testimony is not to say "look at us" but to share that if you persevere, God will do it. When you know He is calling you to something....just do it, even if you feel alone and wonder why you are not calling it quits, when it seems like nobody else is interested...Don't Quit! God may be teaching you patience and He may have much more in the works than you know.
My husband had the idea of going to the Arch, and though we were normally alone in our evangelism, he mentioned this idea to several others who expressed interest in evangelism...he sent several emails trying to organize a trip to the arch....no replies. Again discouragement set in...and he mentioned it to a dear friend of ours, who said "Go anyway, even if it is just you, just Go."...so we did...we planned it anyway, and trusted God and God supplied the laborers...once we committed to go anyway, even if we ended up there alone...God moved; and people we didn't even know started to call us and find our site and ask to go with us....and the Arch-Reach became a reality in April of last month with over a dozen evangelists in attendance. The gospel was preached, and many people from all over heard the Good News. It was an amazing time.
We have decided that we will try our best to make it a monthly event. God made it possible for us to have tracts specifically designed for the Arch events made up and they will be debuted this Saturday for the first time there. (see above photo).
He again organized laborers to go with us and this time out there will be about two dozen of us there to proclaim the gospel. Please be in prayer for us and for this effort. God bless all who go with us and all who pray for those that go. Praise the Lord for what He can do with a willing servant and an obedient heart.
For His Glory,
Michele
ps...I will update this after the Arch-Reach this Saturday.

It Was An Honor

I apologize for not updating this blog sooner, my family had some medical issues to take care of; however things are looking to slow down now, I hope, so I can get back to my blog posts among other things. I receive Ray Comfort's blog via email called "Atheist Central" and today this photo was on his blog. Apparently the atheists cannot let an opportunity pass by to belittle Ray and Kirk for their faith in God and their love for the lost. Ray, as usual, is not dismayed, he takes it all with a wonderful sense of humor. God bless him and his ministry for all they do so selflessly.
I wanted to post the other side of the coin today, and tell you what an honor, a true honor, it was to be even a small part of that amazing project called "Origin into Schools".
Origins into Schools was a project where Darwin's book "The Origin of species" (which is public domain) was reprinted with a 50 page gospel presentation added to the beginning of the book. It was handed out free of charge on 100 + campuses nationwide this last fall during the 150th Anniversary of the book.
My husband and I were given the honor of leading the team that went to the Washington University campus in St. Louis. I would do it again in an instant. It was a lot of work but such a blessing to us, our team and to the students and faculty on the campus. Not only on the Wash U campus, but many other campuses around the country and even into England. There were, of course, some who didn't want us there that day, but many more thanked us for the book and were happy to get it. All in all, over 125,000 people were given the gospel of Jesus that day. It never ceases to amaze me what God can do with a willing vessel if we will allow Him to use us. It was a privilege to be part of the Wash U team that went out to do this and to be a part of the project itself, and most of all to serve my Lord and Savior that day in that way. I look forward to future opportunities to work with people like Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron while serving our Lord. Thank you to all the staff at Living Waters for being willing to serve. God Bless.

The Handiwork of God

I was thinking about the snow that is coming this week, starting tonight; and my mind wandered to snowflakes. Individual snowflakes and how amazing they are and how each one is different. No two are exactly the same....yet all are beautiful. Seashells are the same way, each is different, and gorgeous, even among the same type; every one is different....Then I started thinking about God and all the gorgeous intricate things He created. Each is beautiful in its own way, and unique and special...and all were created by God. Everything from the smallest shell to the largest tiger, most spectacular sunset, most detailed bird, flower, butterfly....all created by the Lord of all. Have you ever stopped to think about that? How utterly amazing God is and how beautiful creation is? When you look at all the different things in the world, how anyone can say "there is no God" is beyond me. Personally I think they choose not to see God in creation because then they have free reign to live as they please. If they were to admit there is a God, then they would have to admit they are sinners and that there is a God to answer to someday.
I was recently in a conversation with someone who said he believed in evolution because a creator was just "too much to believe"....and I was fortunate enough to be able to go through and show him the law and the gospel and how it takes much more faith to believe in everything coming from nothing as in evolution, than it does to believe that an all powerful being created everything perfectly. He did say that what I said made sense and that he would think about it and read the gospel of John as I had asked him to please do. I pray that the Lord of the harvest would open his eyes to see the beauty of creation, not the "chance" of evolution.
All have sinned and fallen short of Gods standards, we have all lied, stolen something even something small, coveted something that someone else had, basically broken Gods laws. But that is why Jesus came, fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, to pay the penalty for our sins. To take the punishment that is rightly ours. Because God loves us, He sent His son to die a horrible death, for you and for me. All we need do is repent of our sins, (turn from them and do them no more) and trust in Jesus to save us. Because God is a just God and a fair judge, sin must be punished. Jesus became the one to be punished for us, so that we can be free. The God of the universe, the one who created everything...the one who gives you each breath you take, became the payment for our sins against Him. Think about that! We deserve nothing, yet he gave everything. Please repent today and trust in Jesus. For more information, please visit www.needgod.com
I hope you enjoy the preceding photos of our Lords handiwork. :)
